They only suck where the drivers suck and the way they're built is stupid. They are awesome in the UK, for example.

Carmel, Indiana gets it. The rest of America basically treats these as especially confusing four way stops. Maybe not Massachusetts either, though those are still pretty bad (and not in keeping with modern design).
